Safe, Loud, Proud: Notting Hill Carnival in Full Swing

West London is alive with colour, rhythm and pure joy as Notting Hill Carnival 2025 bursts into its second day of festivities. From the early-morning J’Ouvert paint-splattered revelry to the dazzling Children’s Day Parade, the streets have been transformed into a living canvas of Caribbean pride

Soca beats, steelpan melodies and feathered masqueraders have taken over Ladbroke Grove, with over a million revellers dancing shoulder to shoulder in celebration of culture, resilience and unity.

Born in 1966 as a response to racial injustice faced by the Windrush generation, the Carnival has grown into Europe’s largest street party—a defiant, joyful tribute to Caribbean heritage.

What began as a grassroots act of resistance now stands as a beacon of multicultural Britain, with every float, costume and sound system echoing decades of creativity and community spirit.

As the adult parade kicks off and the music rolls into the evening, we wish everyone a safe and unforgettable Carnival.

Whether you're dancing in the crowd or watching from afar, may the spirit of Notting Hill fill your heart with joy. Stay hydrated, look out for one another, and let the good vibes roll on.
