A Hands-On Voice for Tipton, Coseley and Wednesbury

Since being elected Labour MP for Tipton and Wednesbury in 2024, Antonia Bance has quickly distinguished herself as a representative who prioritises action over rhetoric. With a career rooted in campaigning for housing, workers’ rights, and community justice, she brings both empathy and determination to Parliament. Covering diverse communities across Sandwell, Bance has become known for her responsiveness, tackling issues from immigration to road safety with urgency and care.

Antonia met Creative Black Country and heard the news that they have been awarded nearly £1m for creative work in our community - including in Tipton. Can’t wait to see the outburst of creativity that will follow! - Posted via Antonia's Facebook.

Leaving No Stone Unturned

Her approach to casework is strikingly personal. When contacted about a complex immigration case involving a three-year-old child denied British citizenship despite clear family ties, Bance did not stop at formal letters. She engaged directly with the family, maintaining phone and email contact, and continues to press for resolution.

Before becoming an MP, Antonia Bance was Head of Campaigns at Shelter, leading national efforts to fix private renting and push for more affordable homes.

The child’s mother recalls:

“I received an email from Antonia with disappointing news from the Home Office. I explained to her I was low, broken, felt like I couldn’t fight anymore. She said to me over the phone, ‘Mom, we are not letting this go. We are fighting this because it makes no sense.’ Her determination towards the best possible results is inspirational.”

Similarly, when road safety concerns in Wednesbury were raised, she responded immediately, ensuring the matter was not lost in bureaucracy. In another instance, long-ignored council property repairs were finally completed within weeks of her intervention — a testament to her persistence and influence.

“The first time I voted in 40 years, I voted for Antonia, and let me tell you, I am delighted I got out of bed that day.” – Local resident

She once served as Vice President (Women) of the Oxford University Student Union, championing student voices long before entering Parliament

These stories reflect a wider pattern: Antonia Bance is building trust by delivering results. Constituents describe her as “hands-on,” a leader who leaves no stone unturned until justice is achieved. Whether it’s immigration, housing, or public safety, she demonstrates that representation is not about words on paper, but about tangible change in people’s lives. In Tipton and Wednesbury, Antonia Bance is proving that politics can be both compassionate and effective — an MP of action, not just talk.
