Catherine O’Hara’s Cause of Death Confirmed as Pulmonary Embolism, Says Medical Examiner

Catherine O’Hara’s cause of death has been formally confirmed, bringing clarity to fans mourning the loss of the acclaimed actress. According to reports obtained by TMZ and echoed by multiple outlets, including the Daily Mail, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office listed her immediate cause of death as a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot in the lungs. 

O’Hara, who died at the age of 71 at her home in Los Angeles, had initially been reported to have passed away following a brief illness, with the cause undisclosed at the time.

The newly released findings offer closure to well‑wishers who had been awaiting further details. The medical examiner’s report also noted rectal cancer as an underlying condition contributing to her death.
