A Decade Apart, the Same Tragedy: Innocence Mistaken for Threat

Anguilla is paying tribute to Kenneth Wilson Brooks, a respected and long‑serving member of the island’s Immigration Department whose professionalism and steady presence left a lasting impression on countless residents and visitors. Known for his clear, no‑nonsense approach, Mr Brooks balanced authority with genuine warmth — a rare combination that made every encounter feel guided, respectful and reassuring. Whether assisting returning nationals or first‑time travellers, he offered not just instructions, but true support.


For many, meeting Mr Brooks at the immigration counter meant receiving clarity at a moment of uncertainty. His calm manner, patient explanations and unwavering commitment to doing the job properly earned him admiration across the community. 

People often left his desk feeling not only assisted, but genuinely helped — a testament to the pride he took in his role and the dignity with which he served. In a department where tensions can run high, Mr Brooks stood out as a model of consistency, fairness and humanity.

A Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Kenneth Wilson Brooks was recently held, with the ceremony streamed publicly for those unable to attend in person.
