Tommy Robinson Criticises Keir Starmer's Successor Following Election Result

Tommy Robinson has criticised newly elected Holborn and St Pancras MP Sagal Abdi-Wali, reigniting debate over representation, community identity and political priorities in modern Britain. Share Political activist Tommy Robinson has sparked controversy after criticising newly elected Holborn and St Pancras MP Sagal Abdi-Wali, the politician chosen by local voters to succeed Prime Minister Keir Starmer in the constituency. In a social media post, Robinson accused the new MP of placing greater emphasis on her Somali heritage and community connections than on representing Britain as a whole. Referring to a speech in which Abdi-Wali spoke about community unity, Robinson suggested her loyalties were focused on Somalia rather than the constituency she has been elected to serve. Jamie Foxx Reveals Truth Behind Near-Fatal Stroke After Years of Online Rumours

Three years after a life-threatening medical emergency left the world speculating about his future, Jamie Foxx is finally telling his story in full, bringing audiences behind the headlines, the rumours and the painful road to recovery that nearly cost him his life.

The Oscar-winning actor, comedian and singer, now 58, has revealed that the mysterious health crisis which shocked fans in 2023 was caused by a brain bleed that led to a stroke. Speaking to ABC News, Foxx said he is using his new stand-up special, Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself, to share the experience in his own words.

"I wanted to tell it as funny as I can, but as real as I can," he said.

The ordeal began on 11 April 2023 while Foxx was in Atlanta filming Back in Action alongside Cameron Diaz. After complaining of a severe headache, he was rushed for medical treatment before suffering a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke. The incident sparked immediate concern around the world after his daughter, Corinne Foxx, announced that her father had experienced a "medical complication".

What followed was months of mystery.

With Foxx and his family choosing to keep the details private, online speculation spiralled. Social media became flooded with theories about his condition, with some posts falsely claiming he had been permanently paralysed, while others spread unfounded rumours suggesting he was gravely ill or unlikely to recover. The lack of official information only fuelled the speculation, leaving fans desperate for answers.

Jamie Foxx could have taken a step back years ago, especially after his near-death experience in 2023. But he's most at home working, whether on camera, on the microphone or on stage in front of a live audience. Foxx invited our Will Reeve into his home for a vulnerable conversation, some exercise and plenty of laughs ahead of his new comedy special, "Take Care of Yourself" on Hulu.

Now, Foxx says many people will be hearing the truth for the very first time.

According to the entertainer, doctors later informed his family that he had suffered a brain bleed which triggered a stroke, leading to an extended period of hospitalisation and rehabilitation. Foxx has previously revealed that he lost memory of nearly three weeks during the ordeal and only later learned how close he had come to death.

He recalled waking up in a wheelchair, unable to walk independently and forced to rely on others for even the most basic daily tasks.

The experience, he says, fundamentally changed his outlook on life.

Medical staff reportedly told him that his survival and recovery were remarkable, while Foxx credits his family and close friends with helping him endure what he describes as the most difficult period he has ever faced.

His new special, Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself, is more than a comedy performance. It is a deeply personal account of survival, resilience and gratitude, delivered through the art form that first made him a star.

The project was filmed in Oakland, California, a city that holds special meaning for Foxx. It was there that his comedy career gained momentum after winning the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition & Festival in 1991.

Adding an emotional family dimension to the production, his daughter Anelise joins him on stage, showcasing her musical talents and highlighting the bond that became even stronger throughout his recovery.

Now fully focused on the future, Foxx says the near-death experience has reignited his creative spark.

Despite a career spanning decades and countless accolades, he insists he still has more to achieve.

"I've got unfinished business," he said.

For audiences, the special offers something they have been waiting years to hear: the truth behind one of Hollywood's most closely guarded health battles. For Foxx, it marks a triumphant return to the stage, proving that even after facing death, laughter remains one of his greatest strengths.

Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself premieres on 7 October on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ internationally.
