The desperate search for survivors in Nepal has entered a fourth day, with 33 British nationals still unaccounted for as the true scale of one of the region’s most devastating natural disasters continues to emerge. Nearly 3,000 people are now reported missing across Nepal and neighbouring Tibet, while the confirmed death toll has climbed beyond 630. The disaster struck on Wednesday when a catastrophic surge of water, mud and debris tore through communities along the Himalayan border. Entire settlements have been overwhelmed and vital infrastructure destroyed. Among those missing are tourists, pilgrims, workers and local residents from dozens of countries. Nepalese authorities previously confirmed that the missing British group includes 33 UK nationals, while Americans, Australians, Ukrainians, Malaysians, Canadians, Indians and many other nationalities are also among those caught up in the catastrophe.
